Makani is a 65 foot day charter catamaran. The owners wanted a boat to provide a safe, fast experience on a modern catamaran. She is equipped with the best gear for ease of handling and speed. WYD was responsible for the design of the hull and all of the structure. She is constructed of epoxy and E-glass with foam core. Carbon fiber is used to save weight and add strength in critical areas such as the beams. Her rig is constructed by Southern Spars.

Makani operates out of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is USCG licensed for exposed waters and to carry up to 80 passengers and 4 crewmembers. Highest top speed reported (so far) by the captain is 28 knots under sail. Her design would be a great starting point for either a fast private yacht or a charter cat.
